Hi. My name is Peter Jones and welcome to my campaign website.

I am running for the election to the office of Llano County Commissioner Precinct 1 in the State of Texas as a Republican candidate.

My wife Kathy and I are long term residents of Llano County in Precinct 1 and have lived in Horseshoe Bay for over seven years. We have both been very active in the community and with the Republican Party.

My experience has been in executive management in international financial services companies in the insurance  and pension businesses. I have managed financial service operations in Canada, China and the United States and managed multi-million dollar budgets, dealt with regulatory compliance and human resource management.

I hold professional designations as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and have owned and operated an alternate investment business in Horseshoe Bay since 2008.

My skills and experience apply well to the duties of County Commissioner who are required to manage multi-million dollar county budgets, establish county tax rates, comply with State law and govern county employee staffing and policy.

I was born, raised and educated in England and emigrated to Canada where I entered the financial services business. After 20 years I emigrated to the United States to run a nationwide financial services company based in California. During my last 22 years in the US I spent 4 years in China to successfully expand insurance operations for a Canadian/China joint venture and moved to Texas and the beautiful hill country.  

Kathy serves as President of STAR Republican Woman in the Texas Hill Country and has been elected to run a 3rd term in 2012. Kathy is also the Executive Director of the Texas Federation of Republican Woman working with 10,000 Texas Republican Woman.

Kathy is a born Texan and we have four children and eight grandchildren.

I am a proud American, a Christian and strong Republican and Kathy and I follow Christian conservative values and try to make a positive difference where we can.

We have supported the communities wherever we have lived and I had the privilege to served as board member and President of the Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center in Marble Falls for over 3 years. I am currently on the board as Secretary of the Marble Falls Kiwanis Club and past board member of the Horseshoe Bay Business Alliance as Treasurer.

As County Commissioner I will ensure good fiscal responsibility and management of the County budget and strive to keep county property taxes as low as possible while supporting the service needs of the county with emphasis on road and bridge maintenance.

I have signed a written Ethics and Commitment Pledge holding myself to a higher standard than is required by law or the requirements of the County Commissioner position and stated the position I will take in fulfilling these responsibilities.
